Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find out about enrolment?

You can find out about enrolment by either checking the information in the parent handbook or by contacting the school directly. You can also send us an email and we will send you an enrolment scheme.

Rationale

The school has an enrolment scheme to manage school enrolments to prevent overcrowding.

Home Zone

The following children will be accepted as of right:

  • Children living within the designated geographic boundaries of the school as outlined below. (Students living in the home zone are asked to pre-enrol, to assist the school in planning for any out of zone placements.)

Out of Zone Enrolment

Applications from out of zone students will be processed in the following order of priority.

  • First priority will be given to students who have been accepted for enrolment in an approved special programme. (This priority category is not applicable at our school.)
  • Second priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
  • Third priority will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
  • Fourth priority will be given to applicants who are children of board employees.
  • Fifth priority will be given to all other applicants.

Each year the Board of Trustees will

  • Determine the periods during which applications will be accepted and advertise ballot dates. Applications will be accepted in terms of this scheme once it has been notified in accordance with Section 11 of the Education Amendment Act 2000.

Where do I find out about after school programmes?

Check out the community page of this website and look under After School Activities. These programmes include the after school care and holiday care programmes. Presently we have programmes for Art, Drama and Recorder and you can also read about our in-school piano, band and guitar lessons.

Why do we pre-enrol and when?

Schools are funded on their March and July pupil number rolls. It is important we have fairly accurate data to determine class numbers at least one year out from these rolls and it also helps to determine if we have any ballot places.
